Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu
The Shinto Ryu is the sword against sword set of 12 techniques that are
associated with the Shindo Muso Ryu jo lineage.
Requirements: Participants will require loose clothing and
practice swords. Swords will be available to participants for use
the course and may be purchased, if desired.
Kim Taylor is one of the organizers of the Guelph School of Japanese
Arts and is the chief instructor of the University of Guelph Sei Do
a club which provides instruction in Iaido, Niten Ichi-ryu and Jodo.
He holds renshi 7th dan rank in iaido and 5th dan rank in jodo from the
Canadian Kendo Federation (CKF) and is a member of the CKF Iaido and
Grading committees, associate
editor of the Journal of Asian Martial Arts, Publisher of the
Journals of Martial Arts and Sciences (EJMAS.com) and of the Journal of
Japanese Sword Arts. He has authored several books and articles on the
Taylor first received training in Shinto Ryu from Mr. Shiganori
Namitome, hanshi hachidan jodo of Fukuoka.
