Three classes will be offered this year. The first is a 6 day lecture/demonstration course (June 27-July 2) taught by Japanese swordsmith Taro Asano (Smith name Fusataro). The next two classes July 4-8 and 11-15 are 5-day "hands-on" courses taught by Muh Tsyr Yee who has taught the course since 1996.
ABOUT THE CLASS
This workshop will introduce participants to the production of laminated clay-tempered blades of san mai construction.

Participants will
require cotton clothing and leather-topped shoes. No previous
experience
is required.
Course runs 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.
Instructor: Muh Tsr YeeMuh Tsyr Yee has taught the Japanese Swordsmithing course since 1996. He is an experienced swordmaker who began his apprenticeship in 1986 with swordsmith Michael Bell, a student of Nakajima Muneyoshi.

who takes
this course will have experience with the blade forging process that
will enable you to accomplish a great deal more in the Japanese Blade
Forging Course.

The Olde Heidelberg Inn, in Heidelberg, is twenty minutes by car from the forge. The Inn includes a restaurant and brew pub which was the first in the region and boasts a cold Bavarian-style lager brewed on the premises. Built in 1838 the restaurant is renowned for its generous servings of traditional German food. Enjoy the Honky Tonk piano music or the games room.
